Potty training meltdowns

Hi everyone. My LG turns 3 this coming week and this is our 2nd attempt at potty training.

She is doing fab with pees now but still only making it to the toilet for the 2nd half of her poos. She wears a nappy only for bed.

The main issue here is her behaviour. Her screaming tantrums are absolutely off the scale (shes normally quite mellow) and shes waking crying multiple times per night followed by really early wakings in the morning.

Is this just how it is? I feel like im actually traumatising her. But surely shes ready for this by her age? Or should i give up and try again in a few weeks?

Like most things parenting im finding this much much harder than expected lol

I'd stop if she's that distressed. I agree that she should be ready but it doesn't sound as if she is.

Put her back in nappies and just do not mention the potty or potty training at all and give yourselves both a good, clear break from it until after Christmas.

I'd consider getting a few cloth nappies and putting her in those. She may very well more motivated if she actually feels wet in a nappy.

Thank you so much for your response. I definitely think i will put her back in nappies for the time being until she settles!
