FTM worried about babies head

Hi, FTM here. I have an almost 6 month old and I am worried about the shape of his head. He hates tummy time. I still do it, but after a few minutes he just cries. We got the wee crab which helps but only for a little longer. I also always put him flat on his back to sleep when he naps and at night, from a newborn, as I know that's safest. I'm trying to teach him to sit but he can't yet. The HV said, when he can sit up etc, it should round out a bit itself. Is this the case, and has anyone had any experience with this, and did they manage to fix it at home? In the UK I don't think the helmets are common. Also when he sleeps it's always flat on his back, even it I move him, I wake up and he's flat on his back again. I feel so guilty that it's all my fault, I am trying so hard to get him off his back but it can be hard with his sleep. Just looking to know really, if there's hope it will round out in time or if anyone has managed to correct this. Thank you!!!

Please check out the Noggin Doctor on Facebook, the specialists on there will be able to advise.

In the UK we are constantly told "it'll round as baby gets older/sits up etc" which isn't true, but is said because the NHS won't fund helmets.

How many adults do you know whose heads look wonky?

I don't know any.

That tells you how likely it is to be an issue.

I'll be honest there was one person's head I was thinking about as bad as it sounds. I'd never say that to them obviously. If it's caused by that, who knows but thought I'd post anyway
