arrrgh! Does anyone have any tips on how to stop screeching or at least cope with it??? My DS is 1 and for the past 2-3months he has started doing it. It is really long and earsplitting and he does it over and over and over and it does my head in. It is usually when he when he is bored, tired, hungry, impatient, angry, frustrated etc so obviously his chosen method of communication but how can I get him to stop?

I feel myself getting so frustrated with him

My DD is 9 months, and she does the same thing. It goes right through you doesn't it? I get really frustrated with her, and then feel really bad because I know she's a baby and isn't doing it to annoy me. I don't really know how to get it to stop, but just wanted to let you know that you're not alone! I do try to distract her, and it does sometimes work. Hopefully it will settle down when they get more language

My ds is older (2) but when he screetches I say 'no screaming, but you can roar!' He likes roaring and roaring doesn't hurt your ears and make other people stare at you in public!

Distraction does often work but he does it nearly ALL the time and I would spend my day in a manic tizz trying to think up new ways to do it! lol

Cant wait until he can roar

My ds does the exact ame thing. he squeals so loud and put so much effort into it that his face goes brigh red! I don't mind it too much though- prefer it to crying anyway!

I also say 'can you do baby screaming' which is a bit quieter!
