5yo teething??

Hi,

I have no idea if this is even a thing, but my 5 yo started complaining about his mouth hurting tonight. This has turned into a fully blown 2 hour meltdown crying about the pain, I've given calpol, tried a hot compress, cold compress and have been drinking warm milk to ease the pain.

I never really thought about teeth after the initial teething stage? I have managed to look in his mouth and can see a hard bit in his gum, that looks like the back molar? Do these come out about now?

He hasn't lost any other teeth?

Any help appreciated, on what this could be and how to soothe it for him.

Thank you

Could it be a cavity? When did he last see a dentist? It's happens to the best of us despite trying to get them to brush their teeth well.

After a very long night we ended up at the ooh gp and it's an ear infection! The pain was radiating to his jaw/ mouth.

Thank you for the reply though. X
