Emotionally disregulated 5 year old

I'm not sure if I need to be concerned or do anything about my son.

He's (just) 5 and hasn't really developed emotionally much since about 3 years. He has the most awful tantrums, can't deal with high stimulus activities without getting far too excited and spoiling it by hitting / fighting.

Some people have said "boys will be boys" but it feels like something more.

I only have my very placid older daughter as a day to day comparison, and they are night and day.

He's well behaved at school so he's either masking or I'm parenting him badly at home.

Is this behaviour a sign of e.g ADHD, should I be doing anything about tests or investigations at this stage?

I try to be consistent, calm etc, but he'd test the patience of a Saint some days.

Thanks for any advice or experience.

How does he score if you fill in and score the 60 month Ages & Stages and the 60 month Social & Emotional Ages & Stages?

I think if you have concerns it's worth completing both. They're not supposed to have perfect scores but if he's scoring black in any areas then he needs a referral to a Paediatrician at least.
