4 year old awful behaviour at school

4yo has just started school, has been to nursery 3 days a week from being 1. High needs, colicky newborn but other than that all has been well for the most part, the odd wobble here and there but nothing I would feel is out of the ordinary for a normal toddler, I dare say maybe slightly better behaved than the average if anything.

He had a perfect first month at school, but he intermittently now has horrendous days here and there and there’s no reason I can find as to why he is fine most days but all of the sudden has issue after issue all in one day. A few examples -

  1. Completely ignoring teachers instructions and laughing at them at times when they’re telling him to do something
  2. Purposely doing work wrong in lessons, eg saying the wrong letter repeatedly, confusing other kids, disrupting the lesson
  3. Doing ‘prank’ like situations in the hope that they’re funny, but at best they’re disruptive and at worst another child has actually been hurt whilst in the crossfire of said ‘prank’

We have sticker charts, rewards, positive reinforcement and when things do go wrong, direct consequences that he absolutely does not like, but still we sporadically see these days where it goes so so wrong. Whilst it is only once every week or so it’s obviously still completely unacceptable. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do or why he could be acting out like this?

What have the school said that they're doing @MLow85?
