10 month old doesn't say 'ma ma' or 'da da'

Hello,

Is it worrying that my 10 month old doesn't say 'ma ma' or 'da da'? She also doesn't use furniture to lift herself up to start cruising... she can sit unaided and crawl, has newly learnt how to clap and do her own version of a wave is it normal that she can't say 'ma ma' or 'da da'

Thanks

I wouldn’t worry just yet. When I say the HV at about 12 months with my son she said they don’t really get concerned about speech until about 14 or 16ish months I think. Something like that.
My son is now 1.5 years old and has literally just this week started saying mama. Up till now I’ve been called daddy!
If your baby is babbling generally, making noises etc then that’s normal.
Just keep reading books and talking and singing to her and one day you’ll find she suddenly won’t stop talking! I think as soon as my son turned 1 he just suddenly started saying so much more, half of which isn’t real words, but his speech just suddenly exploded. So you may find the same.

Thanks @Row23 she squeals and copies the shape my lips make when I say blue (when pointing to the colour blue) and she says ghee but no mama and dada yet. The HV made me anxious about it a few weeks ago when she mentioned that DD is behind for where she should in regards to speech and I keep thinking about it 😭

Did the HV book a follow up appointment or refer her for a hearing test?
