Bitten by my 3.9 yr old

Ahh, just got to rant on this one! Okay, so I have been at work the last 3 days but Ds 3.9 who is normally great at bedtime, tonight bit me on the shoulder as I was carrying him up for a bath! It was such a shock. He's normally quite a placid child. I told him off and he cried and said sorry repeatedly. I then asked him why he did it and whether he was cross about something and he said he was. But then, 10 mins later, he did it again!! I just wonder what lies beneath it all, or just attention seeking. Should I have ignored, put him straight in time-out or do as I did which was to try and find out if there was something wrong and comfort him! Hope he doesn't do it again!!

To me it sounds like he was just experimenting, seeing what would happen?
Don't worry about him - I have a 3 year old who has been biting all of us for two years; that's when you need to worry (health nurse keeps telling me not to though and that she's lovely..)

Dd1 did this to me once when she was a similar age, and I was so shocked I burst into tears (it really hurt!) - she never did it again but she can still remeber it now.
I think it's just a "phase thing" so try not to worry.

Thanks - I probably overreacted!

...in getting stressed about what is prob a minor issue that is (not with ds).
