8yr old's temper

My 8yr old ds has developed a terrible temper. Shouting, screaming, thumping walls and furniture. I have no idea if this is normal or if I should see a psychologist as it is very worrying.

Apparently the book 'bringing up boys' by S. Biddolph is great. Have you read it? I keep meaning to and my son is only 3!!! He's also written one for girls and as my dd is starting to be rather bolshy, think I might get that one too.

Boys around that age have rushes of hormones and behave exactly in the way you've described.

But also, in case there's another problem upsetting him and it's not just hormones, perhaps ask his teacher and see if his behaviour at school has changed too.
