Seven year olds behavior affecting family

Our 7 year old likes to dictate everything that happens. Currently on holiday and he’s been telling us which chairs to sit at around each table. I’m not doing what he says but he keeps trying. He tells us what we are doing and when. He tells his youngest brothers how to set up their toys.

Do other kids do this? I’ve pointed out to him that the holiday is based around doing things he and his brothers will enjoy. He has been enjoying it, he has no reason to think we aren’t going to do fun stuff with him.

I don’t know really what I’m asking, it’s so normal to us but I’m thinking other children generally go along with their families without trying to control everything. The younger two seem to manage fine!

He completely refuses to accept ever doing anything wrong. He has an argument for everything. He wants to be good in school and generally is but occasionally if he’s been told off he is really upset/angry about the injustice.
