5 year old biting at school

I just don't know what to do! DS will be 5 in a few weeks. He's in reception. Always been a well-behaved child but I've been called into school three times now to be told he's bitten a classmate (different children). School advised to talk to him, which we have, but it's clearly not enough now.

What would you do? Take away toys? Shout? Time out? We rarely have to discipline him and when we do it's time out system, but that feels a bit weird to do so long after the incident.

Have the school said that they are doing anything with him, like The Zones of Regulation?

Have they suggested any books like In My Heart or a game to play at home like Eggspressions? If you go to your local library they will often have age appropriate books to borrow in dealing with emotions.

Have school noticed any pattern? For instance is it happening when he's hungry or needs a wee or over a certain toy?
