Just after some advice/experience from people if possible?
My baby is nearly 7 weeks old and he doesn't make any eye contact or fix on anyones face. I feel like he is just a blank face all the time as he still isn't smiling yet, and I'm starting to worry something is wrong.
I raised concerns with the HV and GP and they do agree he isn't fixing and staring off behind me/into the distance.
Does anyone have experience of this? And if so what could this be a sign of? His hearing is great and he reacts to sounds. Tia

I wouldn't be thinking anything of it yet. My 9 week old is only just starting to look at people's faces and only recently started smiling also and just started moving her eyes to follow toys when I move them in front of her, she wasn't doing that previously.
I would only start questioning it if he gets to 3 months and is the same.

A lot can depend on when they are born also. Was he full term?
