4 month old head control

Hi,

I’m looking to see if anyone has any experience with poor head control or Bob?
my 4 months old seems to have poor head control which is beginning to worry me. When sat up she can almost have a shakey head when looking side to side or up but other times she can move her head smoothly. The movement is kind of between a shake and a bob but again it is not all the time so I’m not sure if it’s just her still developing proper head control or if there is something wrong. I don’t remember my boys having this. I’ve gone down a Google rabbit hole so I’m going to make a HV appointment to have a chat but thought it wouldn’t hurt to see if anyone has been through a similar thing.

thanks in advance

It might be worth filling in the 4 month Ages & Stages and taking it with you when you see the he HV. Don't get too anxious about her score though. It's not really designed for babies to score perfectly for everything. Grey in a couple of areas is normal and your HV should make an appointment with you to review again in a couple of months.

If she's scoring grey in lord than 2 areas or Blavk in any areas then I'd ask for a referral to a Paediatrician, just to check her over Flowers

Thank you I will check the questionnaire out and see what it says. I think I’m more worried it being something sinister rather than simply a development delay but I will see what the results say and have a chat with my HV. Thank you for the suggestion 😊

It could of course be absolutely nothing but always best to go with your gut feeling Flowers
