Hey
what’s the difference between delayed echolalia and normal language development? I have a 19 M DD who can say approximately 100 words and used them in appropriate contexts but my doubt is is it all learned by memory and not through independent language ? Example when the song “ let it go “ comes on she says “ let it go “ and then castle ( when Elsa builds a castle in the video ) . She asks for stuff like “ milk “ but then immediately afterwards she says “ it is coming “ ( it is what I have been saying for a while so I thought she just memorised it ) I ask her “ do you want toast “? She says just “ toast “ not “yes or no.
Her development has been pretty linear so far . Pointing , waving , clapping , socially very shy though .
any advice ?
