Hi 😆back again with a question on food and behaviour for my quirky 19 M DD:
So to sum it up and get straight to the point
She can :

  • point , wave , clap
  • Understand commands ( get shoes , where’s the book , go up the stares , No , Stop etc
  • Can say up to 100 words
  • Can ask for what she wants ( water , food etc .
  • Sleeps really well and through the night
  • She tells me when she does a poo
My main concern is food : she has been fussy a while now and still wants me to feed her the mail meal . Happy to eat finger foods such as fruits , sandwiches, toast crisps . She seems a bit wary on pasta with sauce to touch but she would wolf it down if I give it to her . She eats any sauce ( pesto , bolognaise, meatloaf , rice , potatoes eggs salami .) But she is not bothered by touching fruits or cheese . She loves raw vegetables . She knows what the spoon and the fork are for as she eats yogurt with her spoon and stabs at the food with the fork ☺️. She shows me her hand when some food get stuck and asks me to clean it . Has any moms/ dads ever encountered a similar situation and if so have you broken the code ? I am aware that it is unusual as all kids her age can self feed with spoon and fork . Any help would be appreciated

She sounds like she’s doing better with food than my 19 month old!
I don’t think anything you’ve written sounds concerning though - are you just worried that you feed her her main meal?

Hi ☺️ yes I certainly made a rod for my own back here ☺️ . As a first time mum I wanted to know if there are certain foods that are easier to map in the mouth for toddler and some textures that they might not enjoy at first

I don't think that feeding them the main meal is that usual at 19 months, especially if that main meal is in the evening when they're likely to be tired Wink
