Baby development in different countries

So a bit of an odd one, I have a 6month old and she's smashing all her milestones 🙌🏼...I also have a greek mother in law and whilst I'm grateful she's very interested and happy in how the little one is doing I'm SO confused

She's constantly blown away and saying how she's a miracle baby and how the milestones she's doing have never been done before 😂

Baby was sitting at 4 months
BLW at 6 months
Cut a tooth at 6 months
Has started to pull herself up at 6 months

These are all very 'normal' things, but she's truly shocked that a baby of her age can do these things? Is there a difference between milestones in different countries or were her son's just incredibly lazy 😂😂😂

The sitting and pulling up is pretty early. How fabulous to have a mother in law so interested and delighted though.

In general, babies are babies the world over in terms of development, although there may be some smaller differences based on what typical baby care looks like in different countries. For example, countries where on average babies get a lot of time on a blanket or mat may have slightly earlier averages on gross motor skills compared to those where on average, babies spend more time in carriers, bouncers, car seats, etc.

Although not out of the normal range, your baby is definitely on the early side with sitting up and pulling up to stand. Enjoy your baby and enjoy her grandmother's doting amazement.
