has anyone any advice please!

hi my daughter is 20 months old and a complete nightmare ,she climbs on everything ,is spitefull and is on the go non stop from the minate she wakes up shes running round like a nutter untill she drops at night ,she really cant stop for a second ,but on the other hand shes very bright she done everything early like crawling and walking she speaks very well and knows so much of what you say ,she is always falling over cause she runds everywhere ,and quite a few people have said she is very hyperactive ,ive tried cutting out certain foods but it doesnt seem to help ive 3 children and she is the middle one ,my son was never like this i just wanted to know if anyone has any advice for me ,i feel im at the end of my tether with her .

I'm so sorry you are feeling like this, My ds1 is one of these feisty children. Very bright and constantly on the go.

I haven't got any useful advice, other than what my MIL says and that is - the traits they have now will be the making of them when they are adults.

what foods have you cut out lozza?

thanks for replying! she just scares the hell out of me to, she seems to have no fear of anything im also worried she is gonna really hurt herself soon.xx

i have tried cutting out different things like e numbers , sugary foods or things that have too many sweetners , anything thats too rich , she doesnt have juice any more just water . im quite lucky cause she loves her meat and fruit and veg .x

I think it just means they are going to very eager to learn and bright and confident.
Its good.She will calm down in a year or 2!

I don't really know about food/additives etc but does she have real highs and lows? Any children I know who get a lot of 'bad' food are really up and down.

If she's just full of energy then I agree with bignose - very bright and confident!

I try and get mine to do chores or whatever I'm doing - the other day I got him to clean three buggies, he loved it! There's usually a way of doing things together if you can come up with the energy .

It must be exhausting but i think you've got a real live wire on your hands who just needs a lot of stimulation. Get someone else to help out with this if at all poss at this age! Is your baby old enough to start help cleaning? (!) - my two love running round with dusters and j cloths if I let them (they're girls, forgive the stereotype). Failing that get as much fresh air as you can into your child and remember the best way to learn can be through mistakes - kids are remarkably resilient and won't do something a second time if it hurts enough! I am quite laid back - my eldest, now four, was always taking risks and a part of me revelled in her daring (and still does).

Completely sympathise lozza. My DS2 (25 months)is just the same. Doesn't need sleep, runs around like a maniac. Has no fear at all. Bright as a button. Attacks other kids his age (who he is streets ahead of developmentally).

It is so exhausting. I have posted before because he is so much trouble (under a different nickname). The view seemed to be that you had to let them run it off. He has an older brother who is quiet, studious, timid. They are chalk and cheese.

I have invested in a trampoline and that works wonders LOL.
