How can I get baby to roll back over

My grandson (8 months) lives with me and my husband and is where he should be eating, sitting etc but he just will not roll from his belly to his back. He rolls onto his side and belly from his back but won’t roll back over. If he rolls onto his belly in his sleep and if he wakes up rather than self soothe which he has been doing since about 3 months old he screams and cries until one of us gets up to put him back on his back. He’s lifting his head up and pushing up onto his knees and hands during tummy time but he just won’t roll back. We’ve tried everything to get him to roll back, toys, moving his one arm so it’s easier for him and helping him roll. I’m totally frazzled from lack of sleep because he has us up every couple of hours because he’s rolled over and got stuck. Has anyone got any suggestions on what else we can do?

Honestly he will eventually get it, especially if you keep up with the ways to encourage it. At night time could you pop a pillow or folded up blanket by his back so that he can't actually do the roll over in his sleep?
