My 1 year old refuses finger foods, my LO used to eat finger foods when weaning but will refuse now
Any ideas on how to help my LO
Is this normal at 12 months?

Can you tell us a bit more @Ruby000? What do they eat? How much milk are they having and what happens if you put some finger food on their high chair tray?

My baby has 2 bottles a day in the morning and before bed, he will happily eat like pasta and things that are in his bowl when I feed him myself, I have tried sandwiches on his high chair tray and he will refuse them and throw them off and I have tried putting the finger foods to his mouth and he will refuse the food, when I put the food in his hand to see if he will explore himself by putting it in his mouth himself and he will refuse and just drop it or throw it
I'm just concerned as to whether this is normal development for a 1 year old
Thanks

One thing you could try is stopping the morning bottle. He only actually needs 10 floz a day and that can include milk in things like porridge, custard, fish pie.

Giving more milk than this can affect their appetite.

If you're concerned though, do talk to your HV. Have they done the 12 month check yet?
