I’m at my wits end and just looking for some help and reassurance. My DD is 8 and has always struggled with anxiety and low self esteem. On bad days she is easily overwhelmed in group or crowd situations and has to leave the room, on good days she is the life and soul of the party! she has always found big groups and the school environment really challenging, mainly around playtime where she feels overwhelmed and as a result she says she is often alone. It’s a point of huge anxiety and stress for her. I don’t think she is being bullied, she has lots of friends who she loves to play with but dislikes anything more than 1 on 1 or small groups because she struggles with the dynamic. I have spoken to the school, they are not much help. She is very emotionally aware and old for her age, she has always been very sensitive and empathetic. Not sure what the ask is here but I just feel like I don’t know how to help her and it breaks my heart to see her so sad and anxious about school. Any help or advice welcome and anyone with similar experiences I would love to hear from you.
