Confident with strangers

I never thought this would be something I'd be worried about, but here I am. Worried FTM. My 9mo is very confident with people he doesn't know. For example, at baby group, he will crawl up to other mum's and get them to help him stand up by holding hands etc. at first I thought it was really sweet and he was just sociable. But I thought babies were meant to be cautious of strangers and now I'm worried? He's so happy at baby group that I feel silly for worrying but it also makes me worry about his safety etc with strangers.

I am not a parent, so might not be the right person to answer.

I think around that age babies can be quite confident with many people, even people they don't know well.
My nephew, who did not know me well, was happy to play with me, and to sit in my lap when he was 10 months old. Next visit, when he was 17 months old, he was very shy. Then when he was 2,5 years he was quite confident again.

I hope you will get some answers from parents and people who work in childcare, they will know more about this.

Thanks for taking the time to reply with own experience. Interesting this happened with your nephew at a similar age as well. Seems so sad to be worried about it as I love how confident and sociable he is but today worried me slightly as they were complete strangersShock
