My son is 4 (turning 5 in December) so one of the youngest in his primary one class.
He has now been there for 4 weeks and he goes in absolutely fine every morning and comes out reasonably happy after.
My concern is watching from the gates in the morning he doesn't seem to have any friends. He came from a private nursery on his own whereas many of the other kids moved up together and already have a bond.
All the pictures sent by teacher he is on his own.
He does say he has one friend, however my concern is that he's mentioned several times before that this boy hits. And sometimes this boy plays with other people and my son plays alone. I've also witnessed this boy pulling my sons bag in the line while I watch from the gate in the morning and sometimes they're conversations can look a little heated. My partner consistently states that they are still babies and still learning to communicate but my anxiety has me thinking my son is alone all day every day with nobody to play with and is being pushed about. I have asked him if people are kind to him and he says yes. I have also spoken to school about it who say they have never noticed him on his own and that they will keep an eye on things but I've never heard anything back.
