Do you let your child eat before bed?

My son is 8 and autistic so sleep is an issue. One tip my mother in law gave me was always make sure they sleep on a full stomach. So he eats a light snack at around 6pm (he eats actual dinner straight after school at 4pm).

I have a habit of making him eat something like a banana or a mini roll around 8:30pm just before bed. So he doesn’t have an empty belly.

Sometimes he doesn’t even want it and I kind of force him because I really don’t want him waking up from a rumbling tummy. Am I doing wrong? He is a little overweight.

I offer my three year old a sandwich or snack at around 7pm before his bath and bed for 8. He takes it 9/10....still starving in the morning tho🤣 I would offer but not insist.

I think insisting is a bit much. You can offer but if he doesn't want it then that's fine.

Have you explored the possibility of Melatonin for his sleep?
