My dad was absolutly pissing himself laughing earlier because I asked Dd1 to give her room a quick tidy up as it was a pigsty. She complained saying 'I don't have to do anything, I have human rights'

Me, in fishwife style shouts 'not in my house you don't' up the stairs to her.

My dad said it reminded him of me as a teen, which is obviously not true as I was an absolute angel of course.

Oh and she has just handed me a hair magazine, complete with list of styles she likes for when I take her to have a trim LOL.

If she is like this at 10, then what happens 1t 15 ?

just read this ad we were out last night at sil/bils and this sounds exactly like their older dd1 our dneice (also 10)! She is a lovely, confident happy girl but is also hitting puberty and struggling with 'the attitude'. She's as tall as her mum now, refuses to do anything her mum asks/thinks is a good idea, will no longer join in with family activities etc etc etc they're struggling to know what to do with her. no advice really as i have ds's and they're 3 and 5 months but just wanted you to know you aren't alone!
Apparently i was a vile teenager (clearly my parents are suffering some sort of age-related memory problem ) but am the most perfect adult daughter ever (bigger ). i guess all you can do is ride it out, make sure they know you love them regardless and wait for them to grow out of it...

I have a 10 yr old - DS4!!

I asked him yesterday to show me how to 'do' ebay. After five minutes he was screaming 'I didn't say do it like that OMG Mother why cant you understand.' I turned round and said, quite sweetly, 'thank you darling you can go now.' He burst into tears slammed up the stairs, slammed his door and ranted

Few mins later he came down and said 'I'm so sorry Mum I think it was my hormones.'

'I'm the 4th lad Mum, lastborn, you should now what you are doing by now'

Oh yes and I was the perfect teenager

I think that is whats wrong with DS1 (that and the lack of sleep, see my other thread!) He is 10 going on 14. I am going to start calling him Kevin. Everything is a major drama to him.

Ds is 10 and very, erm...challenging at the moment.

One minute he's absolutely fine, the next completely irrational and huffy.

I've developed a nervous twitch.

yep another 10 year old here... it has been a difficult age for me to deal with and i am dreading 3 years time

hormones i think i have ds10 hes calm one min then huffy,aggressive,shouting and very gobby.
