5w old struggling to poop

Need some advice. My 5w old is struggling to poop on her own. When she was born, I exclusively breastfed her for the first few days, and she passed the meconium fine on her own (she would pass a stool a couple/few times a day).

However, after the first few days, I had to switch to combination feeding as I didn't think baby was getting enough milk from me (FYI, I pump about 4oz in total, twice a day. I know I should pump more, but some days I struggle getting a minute to do so). Since combo feeding, baby just doesn't poop for over 24/48 hours unaided. She is constantly pushing all day and gets frustrated, and she is very gassy/bloated/tummy gurgles. She also tends to be sick a lot due to bearing down.

We have tried sips of warm water, warm baths, tummy massages, and bicycle legs. Still nothing. We've also tried stimulating her pooping (with a thermometer) on advice, which works, but we don't want that to create a dependency. We've also tried switching formula, using constipation formula, lacto free, and we have been prescribed hypoallergenic formula, but we haven't tried that yet as the doc wasn't 100% that it would help.

Anyone else experienced anything similar?

Is she actually in pain as she's trying OP?

She starts off just grunting and kicking her legs, but then she starts full-on crying and goes red in the face

In your position I'd try the formula prescribed, especially as constipation can be a sign of CMPA Flowers

We're trying her on that now and we've got the health visitor coming in a few days, so will see how she goes till then. Thank you 😊

Omg my ds was rubbish at pooping until 10 weeks, he would straighten his legs and tense so obviously nothing came out. I became quite obsessed with it and would hold his legs up at the knees when changing his nappy which sometimes helped. In the end he just got it, was a long couple of months though of screaming

That's exactly what my daughter does. She completely planks and tenses her body so nothing comes out. I'm hoping it rectifies itself 🤞🏻
