Hello just wondering does any one else's baby engage in arm flapping my 8 month old when watching tv excited like to flap and clap his hands, it's almost constant lately which worries me alot. I have read that sometimes a baby can do this to show they are excited which looks like he is alot of the time. Does any one have any experience with this, thankyou.

My understanding is that if they are still doing it past their second birthday it becomes a concern but not before..

My little one does this when excited and so does my niece who's just turned 2. I think it's very common and just something babies tend to do. I wouldn't worry :)

hand flapping is one of the signs for autism. screen time for kids is usually after age 2 rather than before.
