Ds was 4 a couple of months ago, since then but especially the last few weeks his behaviour has taken a nosedive. He is shouting and screaming at us. Winding up and fighting with ds1 (8.5) hitting him and screaming at him. Refusing to go to sleep or stay in bed alone , accusing others of hitting him (when nowhere near)
he has a new imaginary friend - who, when he’s told no we get ‘my friend was allowed to do that’ ‘my friend gets to have that toy, his daddy and mummy always say yes’ ‘my friend is allowed to punch/scream/shout and doesn’t get told off’
In the meantime, my 8 year old is also unhappy because 4 is dominating everything at the moment everyone is just short tempered and highly emotional.
i will say, this is the first time they’ve had the 6 weeks off together as until now ds2 was in a private day nursery year round but as he’s starting reception in September we’ve had them both off for the summer, could this mostly be down to the sheer amount of time they’ve spent sharing the same space?!
