putting shoes on the right feet!!

My daughter will be 6 in two months time. She is in year 1. I have noticed that other children her age put their shoes on the correct feet. She has no clue what foot they go on. We have tried leaving her in them when they are on the wrong feet but she does not notice, so obviously can't be too uncomfortable for her.
Does anyone know how kids learn to put them on the right feet? Or what I can do to help her learn. She has boots with zips at the side which she now puts on the right feet as we tell her she zips them up on the inside of her legs. Shoes and trainers are a different matter.
I am getting worried that she will be the only 18 yr old at the pub with shoes on the wrong way round .
Any advice will be warmly welcomed. Thanks.

Trainers look pretty similar one to the other, though.

We put a little half circle on the inside side of each shoe to help ds line them up. He still forgets most of the time! We tried stickers but they didnt stick for long!

What a great idea!

That is a great idea. Will try that.

i did half a face on the inside of each shoe, so that she could match them up to make the whole face - similar to magso's idea

My DS is 11. He still regularly gets it wrong. He's not at all bothered - he says that trainers feel the same whether they're on the right or the wrong feet.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to all those who gave me advice on this subject.

I have discovered that my daughter does actually know her left and right .

Have just put L for left and R for right on her trainers and school shoes and so far she hasn't put them on the wrong way. .

Thanks again.

Similar to other ideas I do arrows on the inner side pointing together so if shoes right way round the meet up. I still do this even though she is 8 in her dance shoes as they have to put them on and off so quickly.

How resourceful! I'll do this for DD1 as she's 3 and still gets them wrong 50% of the time.
