Three year old - adhd or normal toddler?

Hi!
Three year old DS has a lot of energy. Wondering how one distinguishes between what is normal toddler behaviour and signs of adhd/similar.

He's constantly climbing on things, runs rather than walks most of the time, talks a mile a minute and sings and makes noises a lot. Will sit and watch tv happily so can concentrate on that, but I'm assuming that doesn't count?

What is normal, active toddler, and what is a cause for concern? Thanks!

I don't think they will refer for an assessment for ADHD until they're around 7 as some of the behaviours can just be normal toddler behaviour like you say.

Is he getting plenty of opportunities to burn off some of that energy? Will he sit with you and do an activity like play doh or a simple board game?
