My little boy is 17 months and still not walking, he climbs on things and cruises all the time and can walk holding my hands, has anyone got any tricks and tips on how to encourage them more 🙂 I’m due my second baby in 4 weeks and have to have a c section and was really hoping he would be walking by then but I can’t see it happening 😂

I might have held out chocolate. Just don't tell my old HV Grin

Surely you don't want him walking if you've just had major surgery as it very quickly turns into getting about places much faster and you have to chase them.

He's still in normal age range even if on the late side just don't worry about it he will do it when he's ready

@NoKnit yeah I guess so I think deep down it's because I know he's having his 18 month check up when I first have my newborn and I know he's behind in certain things like not saying many words and walking so I guess I just don't want the added stress of a HV telling me what I'm already worrying about x

He's on his way and only running a little lateish, he at all. He's doing all the right things that lead up to it. It will happen soon. Good luck with your next little one at the same time and hats off to you and anyone who has two young ones at the same time, i couldn't do it!

Walking isn't a concern until 18 months and he's got a bit of time before he hits that.

If you think he's a bit behind, has the HV asked you to fill anything in before the check up?

I have a HV check a few weeks ago for the new baby but we ended up talking about my first the whole time, she said with talking etc and his little stimming habits they don't actually look into them until they are past 2 as it can be completely normal x @PolaroidPrincess

@teaandkittehs thank you :) he actually stood up today on his own! I was at work and my mum sent me a photo he's never ever done that at home haha! X
