Teething 4 month old?

Hi all,

I think my 4 month old DD is currently teething as she is very fussy, crying whilst gnawing on her hands, keeps turning onto her right hand side where the cheek looks a little flushed, sleeping poorly (though also regressing atm so who knows!)

A couple of people have also commented on it unprompted as she looks drooly and apparently slightly puffier on one side of face.

All this being said, I've read this sounds a bit early for teething so I'm confused! It's been going on and off for around 5 days now. Can it be that teething flares up and down for a while pre teeth actually coming through the gum? Eg for a month or two?

Thanks for advice.

It definitely could be teething. Have you tried giving her some nurofen and seeing if it helps? I bought teething mittens at this age because mine would constantly be gnawing his hands. Gummee Gloves they were called

It certainly can be teething , it’s early yes but it can happen . My youngest daughter was born with a tooth coming through !
