Don't worry, my dd couldn't reach and grab for things at 6mo and she's a perfectly normal 21mo now! She took her time to do everything.

DS did this pretty early, can't remember but it was between 8 and 13wks. At 6mo he could spoon feed himself and could pick up grains of rice.

However, despite their differences they both fed themselves independently from 12mths.

My nephew is 7mo and still can't pick things up and if he does gran something it just flies out of his hand as soon as he moves his arm. This is exactly what my dd was like!! Very frustrating as I couldn't give her toast or biscuits to hold!

Your ds is still very little so I really wouldn't have any concerns at all!
