I am seeking recommendations for clinics or professionals capable of conducting a comprehensive psychological assessment for a child in Key Stage 2. The child has a complex background, including significant trauma exposure from an early age. Previous assessments have focused solely on ASD, with three different professionals conducting evaluations (concluding there is some 'autistic-like behaviour but not diagnosing ASD).
The child experiences difficulties primarily in the school environment, with minimal impact on life outside of school. Recent discussions have centred on potential diagnoses, partly due to funding implications.
The primary goal is to gain a thorough understanding of the child's situation and determine the most effective interventions, rather than simply securing a diagnosis for funding purposes. Whilst financial considerations are important, I am prepared to allocate resources if confident in the ability of a clinic or professional to assess complex cases comprehensively.
Ideally, I am looking for a clinic or professional (in London) experienced in producing reports that can inform therapy and/or medication decisions. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
