12 month health visitor check

Hi all,

I am slightly worried and just wanted to find out other peoples experiences.

My son had his 12 month review with the Health Visitor this morning and she advised he is falling behind with certain milestones.

Gross motor skills - exactly where he needs to be, crawling, pulling to stand, standing on his own, not far off taking his first steps.

Basically - he doesn't imitate, he doesn't wave or point (he will look in the right direction if I point at something) he will clap, but not copying us, just randomly when he wants to. If you wave and say 'hello' or 'bye bye' to him, he just looks blank. He has said 'mama' at 8 months and 'dada' (both quite a lot) at 10 months but now completely stopped. He shows now signs of wanting to imitate at all.

He has good eye contact, and responds to his name. Generally a happy boy.

He also plays with toys in the same way, he flicks his fingers everything (stimming)

My HV is going to call us back in a month to see if he's made progress and then said we can go from there but it's got me worried (we have a large family, my son has over 10 cousins, not far apart in age and they were all a lot further forward in development by this age, apart from 1 of them who is autistic and non verbal).

Am I over thinking/worrying?!

Thank you if you got this far!

She did mention that it is common, however me being an anxious person that worries a lot does not help me feel any better about the situation
