Move from cot to bed

Any advice on the transition?
My two and a half year old moved to her 'big girls bed' 4 days ago.
In her cot she was a terrific sleeper, would put herself back to sleep if she woke.
Now, she wakes about 4 times a night crying for a cuddle.
She is fine when initially put to bed.
One mum advised going back to the cot but am reluctant.

I wouldn't go back to the cot as sooner or later you'll just have to deal with the same issues and might as well get on with it.

Why do you think she is wanting a cuddle? Is she getting cold as the covers fall off/ falling out/ losing her teddy?

I have just dealt with all this with ds but he was already having a bad patch with sleep before we moved him so I don't think it was the new bed. He has settled down now and is back to normal (thankfully)....we had a chat with him about it (!) and said he needed to settle himself back to sleep unless he felt ill or needed a wee in the night.

I have no idea whether that worked or it was just luck.
We also started tucking his duvet cover in the side of the bed frame so he couldn't fall out.

i would persevere...remember it is new for her, she may need to adjust a little bit. i have a spare quilt on the floor for DS so he can sleep comfortably incase he rolls out...but i also fold his normal quilt into a sandwich so he feels secure.
