Barely any noise

Hello all,

looking for the experience of others.
we have a 7 month old, second child, and she is very very quiet. Most days she makes a few little noises a handful of times. None of it is babbling though.
she has blown raspberries in the bast, but probably not for a month now. We also think she did do a couple of ‘Ba’s a few with those raspberries too, but nothing since. She does laugh and google, mostly at her brother and a couple of games every now and then.

she is only really noisy when sad or letting us know she wants to be helped to stand up!

did anyone else experience this, how did your little ones develop and when?

My daughter was an extremely quiet baby and did not babble. She was perhaps a little later to talk than her sibling, but not delayed. Have you had her checked for glue ear or any other hearing impairments?

Hello @Didimum and thank you for your reply!

We have had a hearing test done yes, everything seems to be ok.

what was a little later in your daughters case? is she chatty now?

She's 6 now, and very chatty. I'd say she had caught up with her peers in terms of general talkativeness by the time she was 2yrs old, which is usually the time they start intervening with speech if there are concerns. I'd say by 18 months she was saying enough words for me to not worry. She never really began 'babbling' as babies do – she went straight from largely silence to making sounds that then became her words.

Thank you @Didimum for the info. Just have to keep my fingers crossed at some
point she decides to do something similar!
