I have adopted a two year old, who has settled in really well over the last year, but recently he has started really pinching me. He does this with his nails out and twists, often making me bleed or leaving bad bruises. He does not do it to his dad, or anybody else. He always looks at me before he does it, unsmiling, like he's planning how to hurt me, then he walks up and does it. I have tried not reacting (which is difficult). I have tried time out, but as soon as he comes back, he walks up and does it again straight away. I sometimes give him up to 3 time outs in a row, but it makes no difference. I have also tried firmly taking his wrist, saying 'no' and sitting him down. I have tried explaining it hurts. Nothing seems to work. If anything it makes the situation worse. I'm very upset, as I feel that I'm being a bad mum and I have to walk away from the situation for half hour to stop getting too upset. He also grabs and twists my nose and I have several cuts from it. I really don't know what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
