Toddler will do anything but fall asleep!!

So my 16M old has been a FOMO baby since birth but after turning 1 it's become crazy. Since around 14M especially, she will DO ANYTHING BUT FALL ASLEEP and im absolutely drained. I'm pregnant and in the pits if the first trimester wondering if things will be even worse when baby gets here.

It's not even that she's upset or crying, she just simply won't allow herself to fall asleep no matter what. She naps okay, 2 to 3 hours during the day. I've switched schedules to nap less etc or allow the full 3 hours, doesn't make a difference. She wakes up between 7-8am and gets tired 7-8pm. But it takes upto 2 HOURS to get her to sleep. And that would still stand if it was midnight and she was shattered. She asks about grandma, aunty, wants the yellow dummy instead of pink, wants milk (which she drinks for 1 second), wants to go down, wants to read a book etc and the list goes on. She's always been advanced with speech and was using clear words well before 1 so she can definitely go on. Love her to bits and im sure everyone else finds it adorable but I'm just getting worried about having 2 babies now and getting her to sleep.

sometimes she starts closing eyes and then realises whats happening and fights it. Any tips please?

3 hours is a long nap for that age. Maybe try capping the nap at 2 hours so she's definitely tired at bedtime. Mine still fights sleep at 21mo and has from the get go though he never napped for long stretches. Half an hour was more his speed😭 hope you figure it out, solidarity, it's shit

@Devilsmommy thank you, I will give a capped nap a go again for a week or two and hope it works. Now it's summer I can do alot more outdoor stuff and tire her out I guess 🤣 good luck to you. I was speaking to my DM earlier and she told me we all slept through by age 2.5/3 years old so some hope for you there!

I can't complain nowadays because when he does finally go down at night he does sleep through most of the time. Took him 14-15 months to do it but I thought something was wrong when he slept through the first time because it was so much of a shock 🤣 honestly it will get better. Hang in there😊
