my dd has been exclusively breastfeeding but will not entertain powdered milk from a bottle. She will take expresesed milk quite happily but knows the difference. I have tried different brands of milk and a range of bottles and teats. please help!!

I had to top my wee one up frequently when I first started breastfeeding, so he was used to the bottle and formula milk, but we went a while without doing it, then when we re-started ( in an attempt to be able to have a night out...) he started refusing the bottle, regardless of type of milk. We just stuck with one type of bottle and one type of milk and essentially persevered....night after night would try for 5-10 mins, have a break, then try again....think he finally broke after about a week and I had a few days of not trying at all just to give us both a rest! And putting him on his bouncy seat in front of the TV while trying helped to distract him a bit.... best of luck!

is there a pressing need to make the switch?

Do you need her to take formula milk? Or can you do some creative brainstorming to find a solution to whatever reason it is that doesn't involve formula? It's not surprising she doesn't like formula if she's used to ever-changing breastmilk! It's probably a bit boring and minging! Have you tried a cup? Is she old enough for water and solids?

Are you there when she tries it? Perhaps if you're there she's thinking she'd much prefer some nice custom made breastmilk whereas if someone else does it she might just take what she can get!
