2 Year Old Stuttering

As the title reads my LO has recently started stuttering, its absolutely breaking my heart to see/hear him struggling with his words. Its only the 1st word of some sentences, tends to quite often be Mummy, yes, no. His speech and language has always been really good , just randomly started last week. Should i be worried? Read online its quite common and just a development thing.
Any advice please?

Very common, my DD did it and soon grew out of it.

@Pixilicious1 thankyou. How long did it take?

Stuttering is quite common around ages 2-4 as their language development explodes and their mouths can’t keep up. Happened to my daughter around 2/3; occasionally she still stutters now and her language skills are fab. I’d say if it persists or his language development backtracks speak to the health visitor.

Honestly I can’t remember now but my DD is in senior school so it was a while ago, I’d say certainly no longer than a year. As pp said, their brains are running faster than their mouths as they develop language skills.
