My son is awaiting asd assessment he is 4 years old. He was delayed walking and talking and we went through terrible 2s for about 2 years where everything had to be a certain colour size, very much routine bound everything was a fight lots of sensory seeking scratching wriggling etc. This seemed to improve about 3 and a half and I thought as weird as it sounds his behaviour improved, you wouldn't have noticed his traits and he seemed to be a lot less anxious. Recently though for the past 3 weeks his behaviour has went massively down hill after 3 months of improvement. His anxiety is high he will only eat of a certain plate and bowl use certain cutlery hes talking in a baby voice none stop always toe walking, wetting himself on occasion, hitting and kicking me and hitting himself. He won't follow a routine is very defiant every single task is a fight won't attempt to put his own socks on doesnt like the feel of them doesnt like his bed anymore and won't sleep in it. Theres honestly so many things I haven't even mentioned im just really struggling. I guess I'm asking if your child has asd or suspected do u think there was a point where their traits sort of reached a peak and did it stay that way? I'm very much aware as he is getting older im seeing new things and its harder to reassure him, hes getting bigger and stronger and I worry what the future will hold with his aggression.

I honestly can't remember those sort of peaks and troughs. Has anything changed over the last 3 months, apart from his behaviour obviously? Flowers

There's talks of primary school occurring in his nursery thats it really. I feel bad because sometimes its like he can't control it and I see a glimpse of the real sensitive kind him and that sounds awful to say I dont mean to offend anyone but pretty much every day straight has been defiance, ocd type traits, purposefully doing things for a reaction its like everything is intensified. School seem to push it under the carpet and say he's fine there
