We've a DS who turned 2 last month. We travelled a bit more than usual last month as well. All things considered I"m not surprised he wakes occasionally sounding fearful and needing lots of cuddles and reassurance to go back to sleep.

However this has been going on for a few weeks now and I'm starting to wonder if there's anything we can do to help get past this...

nightlight?

light-up glow in the dark animal comforter thing? (I think this is an expensive gimmick personally but )

He might just have got into the habit of waking, after having a genuine reason for the first few times. There is a thread about similar cases in the Sleep section here . It seems quite a common problem around this age.

Put a mattress on the floor of his room and sleep with him for a while? Put a mattress on the floor of your room and let him sleep with you for a while? Let him sleep in your bed when he's frightened?
