Baby arching back in highchair

Hi all
Last few days I noticed my 9 month old arching his back whist eating in the highchair
He looks like he's pushing down on feet sometimes and sometimes he just looks uncomfortable and extends his tummy in his chair
Sometimes will use hands to push down on and extend too.

Any idea what's wrong? I have munchkin floaty highchair

I put a foot rest for him and hasn't helped. He just pushes down on it.

Doesn't seem to do any other time
Worried. Please help x

I had a look at the high chair, is it just hard plastic, is it slippery or cold to sit in?

You could try an insert to make to make it softer to sit on and more support.

Do you think he slipping down in it and that is why he trying to push himself up, is the hard plastic touching the tops of his legs?

Is he doing this arching when you first put him in or could it be boredom and a sign he wants to be taken out of the high chair?

How does he react in other styles of high chair, at a restaurant or perhaps at a mums friends house have you tried him in their high chair?

I have had two boys, grown up now, one loved being in his high chair, the other couldn’t wait to get out of it once he had been fed.

Hope you find a solution and get some advice from other mums too. I know it’s really upsetting when your baby is upset and you don’t know why Flowers

I had two like this as well. First one literally had to be evicted as the second one was needing to use it. Second one was barely ever in it. Ended up with a travel one which they much preferred.
