Evening this is my first post!!

my daughter is 20 months old and has zero gross motor skills for her age. She can crawl slowly but has stopped pulling up /cruising. She get so upset and scared to bear her own weight.

we have seen the paed Dr and a physio but she’s not developing at all! I’m starting to worry now. Can anyone share their experiences of late walkers?

Hi, I can’t talk about my experience of a late walker because my babies only 8 months old but she’s very delayed due to a disability. We’re sorting her out a physio referral at the moment as she even struggles to hold her head, she can’t sit yet and can only just roll over. Have they given you any equipment? I knew my baby was going to be behind and I have bought her a red kite walker but it comes apart and can be used as a hand held walker but not like a usual baby walker if you understand 🤣I bought mine off Amazon but might be worth a look as it’s very similar to what I’ve seen someone using from a physio the only difference is this one is plastic xx

Are you in the UK @Mummass?

What has the Paediatrician said?

Mummass · 10/06/2024 06:23

@CadyEastman yes in the uk. She said to come back in 4m I’d she still isn’t walking. This is the only milestone she hasn’t hit so far x

4 months is a long time when you're worried. Have they given you an appointment date yet?

Are you seeing the physio regularly? My DD is similar - 22 months and not walking and has never pulled herself up or cruised around furniture. We are seeing the physio at the moment and making some progress but it is slow so it is a worry.

We haven’t been able to get an appt with the nhs yet they are so busy. We did a couple of private sessions but she came to tue house and it felt like she just watched her and didn’t do anything

I would call the department tomorrow and ask when your appointment is.

I go to a different department regularly in the Hospital. The Consultant will say we'll see you in 4 weeks but the appointment won't come. I just calm them, explain that the Consultant said see you in so many weeks and can I have an appointment please. Nine times out of ten they give me one.
