Hi just a little update on my son he started babbling little and interact and socialise with family members. Also he loves his big brother and likes to play with him too. But he's still not making proper eye contact and he will only make it when he wants something from me or anyone in the family. Also he still doesn't respond to his name 😕
He is seen by health visitor and she said focus on his communication rather than what he doesnt do so I just feel well worried and dnt know where to stand.

I d be pushing for another appointment with the health visitor in 2/3 months, some areas won't refer you to anywhere until 2 years old but it's about building up evidence of your concerns.
Speech and language UK is a great charity and you can give them a call for advice on communication.

@1995SENNDMUM Thank you and I feel the same as where I live they won't do anything till my son turns 2 but as a mother am pretty much concerned and my HV doesn't seem to care to what I said to her previously. But I will try to make another appointment with them.

Dont get me wrong, there are some good health visitors out there, but many take too much of a wait-and-see attitude, so being persistent with them sometimes is the only option to get anywhere; so if it is 2 for a referral, then you'll get it as soon as possible. I think in the end I made 5 phone calls over a 4 month period to the health visitor line and had two home visits and one the second one just after his 2nd birthday, they agreed they d have to refer my son as i wasn't backing down and had valid concerns.

I agree with u some HV are really good. Will definitely give them a phone call tomorrow and see what they say.
