FTM here with post natal anxiety… hoping for some kind answers and reassurance.
My little boy is just ten months old (as of last week) and I’m worried he isn’t crawling just yet. He is desperate to walk and wants us to walk around with him constantly (back breaking 🤣) but just hasn’t got the hang of crawling at all.
Im trying really hard to be rational and not overthink but I’m really struggling hence me reaching out on here.
Does anyone else have/ had any similar experience? Thank you xx

Don’t worry! My son was the same. He’s 15 months and never crawled. He refused to be on his tummy and was only happy if we were helping him walk around, then he started walking on his own at 9 months. If you take the focus off crawling and really help him with the walking then it’ll help you feel less anxious about it. Some babies just don’t crawl.
I spoke to our HV and she wasn’t concerned. There’s a small % of babies who never crawl but they’re perfectly fine. Just to put into context, my uncle, dad and husband also never crawled and went straight to walking and all are perfectly functioning adults. It’s had no effect on them long term.
If you are concerned then do speak to your HV, especially as you’ll be able to tell them everything in more detail. I’m sure they’ll say he’s fine, but it can really help to get reassurance from a professional who has seen 1000’s of babies.
The only issue we’ve had so far is that he struggled to get himself to standing. As he didn’t crawl he never moved himself near furniture to pull himself up. So we had to teach him how to twist his body and push up from the floor to stand by himself. He got frustrated at that as he just wanted to be standing. But he got the hang of it by the time he was 1.
But honestly don’t worry. It sounds like he’s physically strong and developing if he is keen to walk. He just wants to skip the crawling part!
