hi Parents, please help I need advices! my DD is turning 3 this September. I don't know if she has Autism or just delayed in speech. Lately, i am having the feeling of being a bad mom, i kept telling her to start talking, like why can't you just talk? and I will burst into tears because I feel sorry for what I did to her that why I am pressuring her to talk, but at the back of my mind she is already 3 in 3mos she is supposedly speaking now!

My concerns:
-she's making sounds, but can't say any words

  • she's making side eye
-not playing with her peers -not sharing toys -not social

Good side:
-have a good appetite, eats a lot
-follows instructions easily
-no problem with sleeping
-no other developmental delays except for speaking
-doesnt line up toys/things
-with eye contact
-playful
-kisses her baby brother
-don't usually have tantrums
-doing independent play

Have you spoken to your HV or GP because surely if she's nearly 3 then it's classed as a delay isn't it? You need a referral to SLT

You need to get referred to speech and language as soon as possible and the paedtrician if you haven't already regardless of it's just a language delay or if it's autism as well, then I m sorry to say that's a significant language delay either way at this point.
