Arching back

My almost one year old keeps arching his back and throwing his head back. He does this mostly when he's unsettled and whinging. Could this just be a tantrum or could it mean something else? He used to have reflux as a newborn but grew out of it as he weaned. I'm not sure this is the same thing and he doesnt appear to have trapped wind or anything. Anyone have any ideas?

It's been a while since mine were this age but I'm sure I can remember DS doing it if he was unhappy about something. I found 12 months can be hard for them as they can understand a lot more than they can say and find it difficult to let you know exactly what they want.
