Stiffness

My health visitor keeps mentioning how my baby ( 4 months old now) has some resistance and stiffness. He also occasionally has little tremors , one leg and his jaw . They're not regular.
I've taken him to the doctors and she's just said he's a big strong boy and has reflux.
However I've started to try and take note more of these things and have a few videos now! He seems to only raise one arm?
Do I need to make another doctors appointment ? Or is her diagnosis right ??
Just posting on here as I don't want to take up an appointment etc .
If anyone has any opinions / help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you .

When the HV mentioned it, did she suggest an appointment with the GP?

I would see your HV again. I'd fill in the 4 month Ages & Stages and ask your HV to score it. Scoring grey in a couple of areas is perfectly normal. If it's more than that, I'd ask insist on a referral to a Paediatrician. If your HV wants to adopt the "wait and see" approach, I'd try and get her to book an appointment there and then for a month's time for her to assess him again.

We took him to an out of hours doctor and that doctor sent him to A&E .
He's had an X-ray which was clear , he's waiting for an MRI now.
Thank you for your reply ! We're hopefully getting him sorted and on the right tracks.

I definitely think you've done the right thing. Do you know how long you have to wait for the MRI?

He's had his MRI ! He woke up half way through so they said from the images they did get there's no sign of strokes or tumours etc !
They think he possibly has Erbs Palsy but we need to be sent to a specialist in Leeds. X

No strokes or tumours is good news. And don't they usually recover from
ERBS Palsy?

Kellymama · 30/05/2024 08:15

Yes usually ☺️🙏🏻 we just have to see the extent of the damage!
Hopefully just a physio job ! Possible surgery if not .
This is how the arm looks.
