My ds is 5 months old and has just started screaming really loudly. he's not in pain or anything, he just does a scream then smiles then screams again, I think because he can!

he even woke up at 4 this morning and started gurgling and then screaming/shouting again!

I just need to know if this is normal. is it just because it's a new sound and he'll tire of it?

its just because it is a new sound and he likes the sound of his own voice

My DS did this.He would do it in the supermarket alot. He would also wake up in the night and sing. He was quite happy, but it kept us awake. He still loves the sound of his own voice.

DD (3 months) loves screaming, usually late at night when her Dad's got an early shify starting. She likes gurgling and noisily babbling a lot. Think she may be v.chatty when she's older.

moodymammy my ds did it. A. LOT. For MONTHS.

Then he started being able to scoot himself round the room, and stopped. (Mostly.)

Now he can point at things he wants but doesn't know how to say, "I'd like that please," so he squeals again.

I distinctly recall MrsJohnCusack having the same problem...
